IRC INTRO FILE FOR IRC NEWBIES USING WINDOWS
ircintro.hlp - September 23rd, 1999.

This IRC INTRO file is made to introduce IRC to people using MS Windows.
It is assumed you have an Internet Provider and you have some experience
with using winsock programs. This intro file focuses on IRC itself. It
will not go into details about installing or configuring the programs you
need to use IRC, but if you ever managed to install and use programs like
Netscape, Internet Explorer, Eudora, FreeAgent or similar programs, you
will not have any trouble understanding how to install and use an IRC
program (client). Some very good IRC FAQ's already exist but they are
written around UNIX based IRC clients or handle problems and give examples
you will never need on a Windows based IRC client. That is why this IRC
Intro file is made, for 'newbies' on Windows.

This copy of the IRC Intro is in Windows Help format. This allows you to
use mIRC's Dynamic Help Menu for fast access. Just place the ircintro.hlp
file in your mIRC directory (like c:\mirc\ ). From that moment on you can
access the Intro from the Menu bar 'Help/Help_files' item in mIRC. Also an
automatically created /mircfaq [topic] command will be available. Full
topic search is possible by this command as well from within mIRC !!

This file is also included in the mIRC distribution package.
